Summer Olympics - Paris Olympic 2024

The sun-soaked excitement of beach volleyball first hit the Olympic stage at the Atlanta Summer Games in 1996, injecting an outdoor party atmosphere into the Olympic experience. With just two players per team, the sport brings a distinctive intensity and individual focus to every match, played on a smaller sand court that demands lightning-fast reflexes.

In the realm of Olympic beach volleyball, the United States and Brazil have consistently stood as towering forces, displayed exceptional skills and clinching multiple medals. The legendary partnership of Kerri Walsh Jennings and Misty May-Treanor, securing three consecutive gold medals from Athens 2004 to London 2012, etched an unforgettable chapter in the sport's annals. Meanwhile, Brazilian pairs like Emanuel Rego and Ricardo Santos, and Larissa França and Juliana Felisberta da Silva, have added their indelible mark, contributing to the global allure of beach volleyball.

Recent Olympic spectacles, notably Rio de Janeiro in 2016 and Tokyo 2020/2021 witnessed captivating beach volleyball showdowns, culminating in Brazilian teams seizing gold in both the men's and women's events. Kerri Walsh Jennings, with her three consecutive gold medals, remains an undisputed icon in Olympic beach volleyball.

The game's outdoor dynamics played amidst the unpredictability of wind, sun, and rain, demand swift adaptation from players covering a larger sand area. As anticipation builds for Paris 2024, where beach volleyball events are scheduled from July 27 to August 10, the qualification period for men's pairs extends from January 2023 to June 2024.

Pairs 2024 representing various National Olympic Committees (NOCs), each NOC can field up to two pairs, maintaining existing regulations. The host nation, France, secures a direct spot for its men's beach volleyball pair, adding an extra layer of excitement to the upcoming competition.
