Summer Olympics - Paris Olympic 2024

Equestrian Dressage, a captivating blend of precision and unity between horse and rider, has graced the Olympic stage since 1912. Evolving from military origins, Dressage blossomed into an art form, highlighting flawlessly executed intricate maneuvers.

Over Olympic epochs, nations steeped in equestrian traditions, like Germany, Sweden, and the Netherlands, have consistently shone in Dressage. Legendary riders like Isabell Werth from Germany and Anky van Grunsven from the Netherlands have notably shaped the sport.

In this discipline, teams comprise three riders, each competing individually. Nations without a full team can enlist a single athlete. The competition commences with the Grand Prix, a pivotal qualifier for team and individual accolades. Athletes navigate six heats over two days, limited to one participant per country per heat. Team standings stem from combined individual scores, advancing the top eight teams to the Grand Prix Special for team honors.

The Special, emphasizing intricate transitions, exclusively determines team medals post the Grand Prix. Teams have the flexibility to substitute an athlete before this phase. The Grand Prix Freestyle, involving 18 riders, decides individual honors. Athletes craft routines set to music, incorporating 16 mandatory movements, pushing beyond the Grand Prix and Special challenges. Individual medal placements hinge on Freestyle scores.

Paris 2024 Olympics will host Equestrian Dressage events from July 27 to August 6, promising captivating displays of equine grace and rider finesse.
