Summer Olympics - Paris Olympic 2024

Paris 2024 sets the stage for Equestrian Eventing, a rigorous trial of horsemanship that has enriched the Olympics since 1912. This comprehensive discipline melds Equestrian dressage, cross-country, and show jumping, demanding riders to master diverse equestrian skills.

Throughout history, nations steeped in equestrian excellence, like Germany, Great Britain, and the United States, have showcased prowess in Olympic Eventing. Icons such as Michael Jung of Germany and Mark Todd of New Zealand have significantly shaped this multifaceted sport.

In this event, team competitions and individual honors unfold simultaneously. Each rider, partnered with the same horse, performs a dressage test, a cross-country round, and a jumping round. Team medals consolidate individual scores across all three phases, with the lowest penalty points securing gold. The top 25 individuals after the initial jumping round contend in a final round for individual honors, totaling one dressage test, one cross-country round, and two jumping rounds.

Athletes who, for various reasons, are unable to start or complete any phase are eliminated from the individual contest. Eliminated athletes incur penalty points for their teams: 100 for dressage and jumping eliminations, and 200 for cross-country eliminations. However, unless disqualified for specific reasons, eliminated athletes can continue to compete for their teams in subsequent phases, except for certain disqualifications. Teams can introduce reserve athletes, incurring an additional 20 penalty points.

The Equestrian events at Paris 2024 will unfold between July 27 and August 6, promising an enthralling showcase of equestrian finesse and athletic prowess.
