Euro Cup 2024

Austria has participated in three UEFA European Championships: in 2008, 2016, and 2020, and is set for a fourth appearance in Euro 2024. Their inaugural entry in Euro Cup 2008 was automatic as hosts. Despite losing the opening match and drawing the second, the co-hosts retained a theoretical chance of advancing to the second round. However, their hopes were dashed after a 0–1 loss to Germany.

In the Euro Cup 2016, Austria qualified as group winners in the qualifying stage but faced an early exit in the group stage with only one point. Euro Cup 2020 saw Austria finish second in their group, reaching the knockout phase for the first time. Unfortunately, their journey ended in the round of 16 after extra time against Italy.

Group F in the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifiers, one of ten determining the finalists for Euro Cup 2024 in Germany, featured Austria Euro Cup, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Estonia, and Sweden. The teams engaged in a home-and-away round-robin format. Belgium and Austria Euro Cup teams emerged as the top two, directly qualifying for Euro 2024. Qualifying play-off participants were determined based on their performance in the 2022–23 UEFA Nations League.

Romelu Lukaku, the Belgian striker, etched his name in history by setting a new record for the most goals scored in a UEFA Euro qualifying campaign, with an impressive total of fourteen.
